There are lots of hot-oil treatments on the market, sold as kits or in bottles, ranging in price.  Many contain essential oils, and natural oils you already own.  Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a.k.a. EVOO is great for an at-home hot oil treatment.  The health benefits of EVOO have been proclaimed for centuries.  EVOO is gaining increasing popularity as a beauty product because what it does for your body nutrition wise, it too can deliver to hair as a beauty aid. The overall health of the scalp benefits from EVOO and a healthy scalp equals healthy hair.  EVOO has antibacterial properties and antifungal properties that fight common scalp and hair problems.  Besides healing dry scalp, EVOO also makes hair soft and super shiny.  Combine your EVOO with 100% Organic Coconut Oil.  Coconut Oil provides deep and real moisture.  It works incredibly well for repairing damaged hair that has been over-processed or is simply dry.  Many claim that coconut oil actually works better than any man-made treatments on the market, and because it's 100% natural, it's free of silicones, alcohols, and other chemicals that can aggravate hair.

Mayonnaise isn't just for your sandwiches.  Ever consider applying it to hair as a mask?  Mayonnaise contains eggs and oil, which add shine, body and strength to your hair, leaving it silky soft.  Mayonnaise is a great conditioner for hair.  It contains two key elements: fat and protein.  The vegetable or olive oil is already in the ideal form to moisturize dry hair, and the eggs have been broken down enough to strengthen and help rebuild damage.  To give your DIY Hair Care Treatments a boost, pick up a few of your favorite oils, such as Tea-Tree, Rosemary, Avocado, Sesame, Basil, Chamomile, or Peppermint.  The oils are often extracted from their source using a variety of different methods, with each oil offering additional hair benefits.

Hot Oil Treatment How To: After washing hair, combine 4 oz. of EVOO, with 2 teaspoons of Coconut Oil, 1 teaspoon of Castor Oil, and 1 teaspoon of any of your additional favorite oils in an applicator bottle.  Heat under warm water and then divide hair into sections.  Apply the Hot Oil Treatment to hair one section at a time, starting at the scalp, working your way down from the root to the tips of hair.  Massage the oils into your scalp.  Then apply a Thermal or Steam Heat Hair Cap for 20- to 30 minutes, allowing the natural heat from your body to lock in the warmth of the treatment so the oils infuse themselves into hair and scalp.  Remove the cap and rinse hair.

Deep Conditioning Treatment How To:  For a mayonnaise Deep Conditioning Hair Mask, simply starting at the scalp, coating strands with 1/2 cup of mayonnaise.  Leave on for 15 minutes, massaging into scalp and then rinse thoroughly.
