The '50 Shades of Grey' casting news rumors have been running rampant recently, and the role of Anastasia Steele seems to still be up in the air. Or is it?

Conflicting reports indicated last week that Emma Watson of 'Harry Potter' fame was cast to play Anastasia Steele, while others refute that Stone has been chosen to play the role. Last week, rumors were spread by a hacker group called Anonymous that claimed they knew that Watson was starring in the movie adaption of E.L. James' wildly successful book.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, members of Anonymous claimed that they were able to hack into the film company's database and came across information that listed Watson playing the role of Anastasia Steele. The leak was boasted about by Anonymous on Twitter and the Hollywood Reporter confirmed the film company had admitted they had been hacked.

Recently, those claims have been refuted by Focus Features, which is making the film. Entertainment Weekly spoke to a rep from Focus Features and they said that casting on the movie hasn't started. Watson has denied the rumors of her involvement in '50 Shades of Grey,' telling MTV News the rumors were 'hilarious' back in September.

"I think it's hilarious. It's so funny. And people don't want to let that drop," Watson told MTV News.

"They're like 'oh no she's saying she's not gonna do it but really she is.' I'm like, no honestly I really haven't read a script. This is not real."

Mila Kunis has also shot down rumors that she will be playing Steele.

Further validating Anonymous' claims being nothing more than a rumor is the fact that they were not able to provide any information on who was cast to play the role of Anastasia Steele's lover, Christian Steele.

What do you think of the '50 Shades of Grey' casting news rumor? Who do you think will be chosen to play Anastasia Steele in the movie adaption? Is Emma Watson still a frontrunner despite denying her involvement with the film? Let us know with a tweet @BeautyWorldNews.
