British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood is known to speak out her mind though not always kindly. This time she has not minced word while describing the first lady Michelle Obama's choice of outfits and even called her style "dreadful."

Westwood sat down for a one on one with The New York Times and spoke about her designs. She also reiterated her comment on how the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, should repeat her clothes more than once.

But when asked if she loved Obama's style considering she often recycles her dresses, the designer seemed to loathe her sense of style. "Don't talk about her. It's dreadful what she wears," she told the daily.

She explained that the first lady never picks outfits that suit her and instead wears designs that make her look conservative. "I don't want to talk about it. Really, I can't. She's a very nice looking lady, but it's a nonstarter regarding clothes that suit her. That's what fashion is there for. It's there to help, not just to make you look more conservative," the 71-year-old designer added.

Westwood also bashed Obama's style and compared it with Jackie Kennedy's, one of the most stylish former first ladies.

As opposed to Westwood's opinion, Obama is considered very stylish by people across the world. Her style has often been admired by fashionistas and has also been lauded for her elegance.

Obama has been dressed by some of the most famous designers like Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung and Naeem Khan.

Westwood has also taken digs at the Duchess in the past about her clothes. The designer also said that Middleton should wear eyeliner more often as the lines around her eyes make her look hard.
