Fashion brand Ruffian has joined forces with Birchbox to launch a limited edition nail polish collection, Feb. 26. The debut collection is set to include three colors inspired by the spring season.

"We are [pleased] to launch our collection of nail polish nationwide to the 500,000 subscribers of Birchbox," said Brian Wolk, co-creative director of Ruffian, to WWD.

The inspiration behind this move is said to be the ruffian manicure, which is a double colored overturned moon design. "Offering nail polish in our runway colors will be the perfect continuation of our passion for beauty," he added.

While the news might be very exciting, Ruffian hasn't pinpointed its debut shades and is asking help from fans to decide what shades the brand should start with. On Wednesday, Birchbox's Facebook fans will be able to select their favorite shades, which they think can feature in Ruffian's debut line.

The shades will be reviewed by the brand and in September the final colors will be mailed to the subscribers of Birchbox and these shades will even be featured in the Spring/Summer 2014 show during the New York Fashion Week.

"We saw that Ruffian had a really beautiful idea and thought we could make the launch big through our audience on social media," Katia Beauchamp, cofounder of Birchbox told the site.

While this collaboration is Birchbox's first designer deal, Ruffian has collaborated with a number of brands in the past. In 2012, Ruffian collaborated with MAC Cosmetics and the cosmetic giant unveiled a permanent stick-on nail paint collection along with a line of lip colors.
