Kanye West and Will Smith were spotted on camera together this past weekend in Rio de Janiero, and it has been confirmed that the new school-old school duo are teaming up for a Latin influenced record together. DJ Batutinha, the man who owns the recording studio where the two were supposidely recording, confirmed to The Sun that West and Smith were collaborating.

"Will and him went to the studio to get to know the sound of the funk better, " Batutinha said. "They thought we could all work out something together and launch this new project." He later went on to add that the two would finish the track in the U.S.

Smith, West and pregnant wife Kim Kardashian were also spotted together having a balcony party snapping photographs at their hotel in Rio [See the photos now.] The group was reportedly taking in the sights of the Carnival and enjoying some time to themselves. "Will Smith gets the crowd going," the 32-year-old reality star tweeted along with a video about the actor.

Kanye chose to head to Rio over a chance to attend the Grammys, but still made his lady proud. "Awww just waking up in Brazil, seeing Kanye won 3Grammys last night!!! That makes a total of 21!!!! That's just so insane! Soooo proud!!!" she wrote on twitter.

Smith, who recently starred in the third installment of the Men In Black movies, has not released any new music since his 2005 album, Lost and Found.

Kardashian is pregnant with her first child with Kanye, but the pressures of carrying a child and engaging in divorce proceedings with husband and NBA star Kris Humphries have not kept her out of the limelight much. In other Kardashian news, sister Khloe has reportedly been fired from her job as host of the X Factor, according to the New York Post.
