Designer Nicholas Kirkwood unveiled his "Oz" shoes, Feb. 17, set to be featured in the upcoming film "Oz The Great And Powerful." The capsule collection that Kirkwood designed in collaboration with the department store Selfridges has been inspired from the classic novel.

The capsule collection includes four different styles; a strappy black sandal, a pair of silver sparkling stilettos with a 3D ruffle, a scarlet and black bootie and zigzag men's brogue.

"I'm not averse to a bit of fantasy at all," Kirkwood told WWD. "I had to create a shoe that would work well for each character, the good fairy and two wicked witches. It was great fun."

"Oz The Great And Powerful" is a 3D film featuring Mila Kunis, James Franco, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams.

Selfridges has not only worked in collaboration with the designer but also plans to celebrate the film, which releases March 8, with a Yellow Brick Road and Emerald City-themed shop. The store will also showcase merchandise from the film and the capsule collection will be available for purchase in March and April.

Numerous famed celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker, Beyonce, Leighton Meester, Freida Pinto, Zoe Saldana and Alexa Chung are patrons of the designer and have donned his shoes for numerous occasions.

Kirkwood also made news for slamming Kate Middleton and her choice of footwear in 2012. He mocked her nude LK Bennett court shoes and wondered how she could wear them so many times.

"She just wears too much high street stuff. I know she's trying to be democratic, but I don't know how many pairs of LK Bennett you can wear," Kirkwood commented in an interview with The Daily Beast.

"She does occasionally come out and is wearing McQueen or something like that. It's like, 'Do that more! You're meant to be a princess-y type of person, so act like one!'" he added.
