Jennifer Lopez is denying rumors that she is slated to star in or produce a biopic on famous Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera, according to Yahoo News.

Lopez is not trying to secure any rights to Rivera's story, either, despite contradicting online reports, according to Access Hollywood. A Lopez as Rivera biopic could be out of the picture right now, but fans of the late singer should be on the lookout for a concert movie in the near future, which would feature Rivera's last concert in Monterray, Mexico, according to same Access Hollywood report. The film would reportedly be similar to "This is It," which was released following Michael Jackson's death.

Rivera passed away tragically last year in a plane crash at age 43, and though they were not close, Lopez reached out to Rivera's family to give her condolances.

"I didn't know her personally but I knew of her. For me, just being on tour right now, you live the same type of life. You know what I mean? It's traveling, it's doing shows," Lopez said. "I'm sure she was rushing to get home to her kids at that time so she took the flight at 3 in the morning. So you go like, wow, it's just like a wake-up call for everybody. It's tragic. She was so young, so young, and she had five kids. It just wasn't her time, it feels like."

Regardless of her involvement in the rumored Rivera film, Lopez will have plenty of new projects coming soon. Her new show, "The Fosters," has been picked up by ABC Family and her reality show, "I Love Jenni," has been renewed for another season, as well.
