Actor Mathew McConaughey is making a foray into the fashion industry with the launch of his line of men's wear called JKL, February 14.

JKL sportswear and swimwear is being launched in collaboration with Grand National Apparel Inc. and will hit shelves in 150 Dillard's stores in March and will be available with other retailers around fall this year. The merchandise will range from $50 to $100.

According to WWD, The JKL collection will include casual apparels and accessories as well as swimwear that has been designed to exude style and functionality. With an aim to make it an "all journey gear," the collection features unique items like quick dry T-shirts, oil and water repellent pants, moisture-wicking tops with UV protection and rash guards etc.

"I like to be able to wear something that is appropriate for wherever the day takes me: to work, on a hike and then out to dinner. I like to take the formality out of the day's schedule and be ready for any off-road detour," the actor told WWD.

The "Magic Mike" actor also said that he has worn creations by numerous designers in his career but he has often had fitting issues. "If you're wearing a button-down shirt, it could be too long to tuck in and too short to leave out. Some lines are too narrow in the shoulders for a male torso, some pants have too high a rise in the front, others look good on you while you're walking, but if you ride a bike or hike in them, they'll restrain you."

With JKL the actor specifically plans to battle these issues and create apparels that have the perfect fit irrespective of whether a person is walking or training.

The JKL Collection has been named after the actor's charity, "Just Keep Livin Foundation," that works towards helping kids grow up as healthy adults. The foundation that was started after his father's death in 2008 teaches kids about the role of health, education and active living in leading a full and happy life.

"It was about keeping his spirit alive and remembering the things he taught me," he told the site.
