Fashion designer Kenneth Cole returned to New York Fashion week on Thursday after a seven-hiatus. According to The Associated Press Cole bought back his company last year from investors and now it is privately owned by Cole.

Cole's new collection which was inspired by liberation is named "Urban Liberation" and is a mixture of tweed jackets, wool felt vests, and metallic sweaters. The collection is definitely geared towards the winter months and the cold temperatures. The colors of the new line were a mixture of black, gray, and burgundy. According to The Washington Post many of the prints on the clothes were mostly cityscapes with one printed on the back of a tunic top.

Layers were also a huge part of the collection which showed a model wearing a women's tweed jacket with two vests, wool felt pants, a leather neckerchief and very long gloves.

The men's collection were a combination of hooded jackets, shawl-collar sweaters, button-front shirts, skinny ties, tapered pants, driving gloves and work boots.

Thursday also kicked off Kenneth Cole's 30th anniversary celebration in the fashion world. Cole's company started 30 years ago by targeting a youthful, urban consumer and everyone else who fantasized about that life according to The Associated Press. The company started producing shoes then progressed into other accessories, then several clothing collections and labels, and officially went public in 1994.

With Cole's new collection he is letting the fashion world and consumers know that he will be around for many years to come.
