Victoria's Secret angel Alessandra Ambrosio is taking her career in fashion a step further and is launching her own fashion line, "Alé by Alessandra," with retailer Cherokee. The label is scheduled to hit shelves in Spring 2014 across Latin America but the date for the U.S. launch hasn't been revealed yet.

The label Alé by Alessandra will feature outfits in the  mid-price range and will include delicate and flirty dresses, bohemian and playful jackets as well as rugged denims.

The 31-year-old model admits that she has been planning this move for quite some time. "This is not a hobby for me," Ambrosio told WWD. "I've been a fashion model for 15 years and designing is just an extension of my career. I know what I like and what I want to see. I want to be satisfied just as much as the customer."

The Brazilian beauty added, "I'm creating a brand that's everything that I am passionate about and have experience in, from growing up in Brazil, travelling around the world and moving here five years ago."

The model, who has fronted numerous brands like Christian Dior and Ralph Lauren, is one of the richest models in the world. Ambrosio has been a Victoria's Secret model since 2004 and was chosen to wear the $2.5 million fantasy bra in 2012. Even though she plans to start her fashion line, she isn't quitting her modeling career just yet.

Fans are not the only ones waiting for her label. Cherokee is equally excited about its partnership with Ambrosio.

"Alessandra is an international icon, a confident, active professional and is known around the world for her amazing fashion sense. Our global sales team and professional brand managers are thrilled to be working with Alessandra," the Daily Mail quoted the CEO of the brand, Henry Stupp as saying.

With this Ambrosio follows in the footsteps of another Victoria's Secret angel Gisele Bundchen, who has a line of flip flops, a skin care range and a lingerie collection to her credit.
