Love birds John Mayer and Katy Perry have faced numerous rumors and speculations since they went public with their relationship. But the musician has put the speculations to rest by opening up about his relationship with Katy Perry in an interview with the Rolling Stone magazine.

"I'm quite happy. I'm happy in all aspects of my life. I'm very happy in all aspects of my life," he told Rolling Stone, talking about his life and relationship with Perry. The 35-year-old also revealed that he wants to have a traditional life "with a very untraditional day job."

Mayer was diagnosed with granuloma in his throat last year and was told that there was a possibility that he wouldn't be able to sing for years. The singer also spoke about how he battled the feeling and how joyful he is that his second surgery worked  and he can sing again.

He also believes that the role of media has changed in the recent years. "I mean, I used to be incredibly put off by somebody taking a picture, thinking as if in some way it was it was invading my brain. But all it is is you can see where I was last weekend. That's all. So now you got a picture of where I was last weekend. That's not tremendously frightening to me."

This fearlessness might be the cause Mayer has been openly hanging out with "Girls" actress Allison Williams despite dating Perry. Setting rumor mills abuzz, Mayer has been seen dining and partying with the NBC newsman Brian Williams' daughter.

Mayer and Williams' are said to have had dinner together at an eatery before going to a hotel together. But they left separately in the morning, according to nydailynews.com.
