The red carpet is the place where fashionistas get a high dose of visual feast and lessons in what's hot and what's not. When stars descended on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, Jan. 27, one didn't even blink in case something was missed.
And monochrome seemed to be the way to go for these stars. Numerous celebrities appeared in classic dresses and gowns that shone at the event but strangely most of them were monochrome. It almost looked like a dress code.
Black ruled the roost with stars like Anne Hathaway, Tina Fey, Nicole Kidman and January Jones embracing the color. Kidman looked stunning in a midnight black dress with blue detailing that perfectly complimented the actress's skin tone. Other stars like Julie Bowen, Jessica Lange and Jane Lynch too appeared in black, according to the Daily Mail.
Another color that was very prominent at the event was white. Sofia Vergara looked appealing in a white floor length gown that perfectly flaunted her assets. Actress Julianne Moore dazzled in a white gown with black flowers embroidered on it.
Lea Michele posed on the red carpet dressed in an adorable salmon pink gown, actress Freida Pinto too wore a shade of pink paired with a black belt.
French beauty Marion Cotillard was a sight dressed in a blue strapless dress by Dior paired with black pump shoes. Accessorizing with just a necklace, the "Rust and Bone" star framed her face with a neat fringe.
Another star we could not keep our eyes off was Jennifer Lawrence. Dressed in a stunning blue Dior creation, she made a statement with bold red lips. Lawrence won the Best Actress Award for her role in "Silver Linings Playbook."
When it comes to red carpet events men are not the ones to stay behind. Actors Ben Affleck, Hugh Jackman and James Marsden looked dapper in their well tailored black suits.
Singer/actor Justin Timberlake looked very smart dressed in a check suit but wife Jessica Biel was missing in action.
