Country singer, Taylor Swift, has announced that she would like to remain single for some time following her breakup with "One Direction" singer Harry Styles.

The 23-year-old "You belong with me" singer, in an interview to Vibe magazine, said, "Independence is something I've always needed, from when I was young. But I love the idea of romance and falling in love. I've never really had a long relationship. So that's something I think about for the future.

"It's an interesting part of my personality: Part of me just wants to be alone...Sagittarians are really independent, and we like our space. We're drawn to love but battle for that need for independence."

Taylor split from Harry Styles over a month ago. Taylor is said to have broken her two-month romance with Harry on trust issues, Contactmusic.com reported. "Taylor's trust issues contributed toward their argument."

She said she couldn't cope with all the attention Harry got from fans, and the fact that he was a massive flirt with girls.Taylor was also targeted by Harry Styles' jealous female fans, which she was not happy about.

"Taylor was also sick of getting nasty tweets from his fans about how they shouldn't be together," reports The Independent.

It seems Styles has moved on and was recently seen with TV star Hermione Way and Swift faced digs at the Golden Globe Awards about her leanings for younger men. Maybe that is why she asked mutual friend Jennifer Lawrence to introduce her to Bradley Cooper.
