Michelle Obama's new hair-do has sent the fashion world in frenzy and President Barack Obama has tagged it as one of the most important events of the weekend.
At a candle light reception held for donors ahead of his second inaugural ceremony, Obama weighed in on Michelle's look saying, "I love Michelle Obama. And to address the most significant event of this weekend: I love her bangs."
"She looks good. She always looks good," he said.
Michelle's new look has been the talk of the town since she debuted it through a photograph that was released on her 49th birthday. The photo shows the First Lady wearing a Zac Posen dress while talking to Inaugural Citizen co-chair David Hall ahead of the Martin Luther King Day of Service.
Since then Michelle's new look has been receiving the thumbs-up from various quarters. Fashion designer Nanette Lepore tweeted that she loved the bangs, while Jane Larkworthy wrote that she received more emails about Michelle's bangs than the Golden Globes' red carpet look.
Meanwhile, for the swearing-in ceremony, Michelle wore a blue dress by designer Reed Krakoff with a blue cardigan. Coincidently, Obama and daughter Malia too wore blue for the event that took place in the Blue Room of the White House.
But Sasha opted for a pink lace dress.
Soon after the ceremony, Michelle took to her newly opened Twitter account to comment about the swearing-in ceremony. "Barack just took the official oath at the @WhiteHouse & used my grandma's bible for the ceremony. I'm so proud of him," she wrote.
