Though Jason Trawick and Britney Spears have called it quits, news has emerged that Trawick will still be involved in her sons' lives, as the boys consider him a father figure.
"Jason adores [Britney's] kids; he loves them," a source told People Magazine. "He was like their 'other dad,' so he's not just going to walk away from their lives. He'll be involved as much as makes sense."
What caused the split remains unknown. But reports suggest Britney wanting more children had created a strain in their relationship. A source told People that though Jason was open to having kids, there were a number of issues that he first wanted to sort out in their relationship.
"Britney had a lot of issues with Jason doing his own thing - in business and seeing his friends. In her perfect world he would have been home with her twenty-four/seven, so that was a point of contention; something they were always working on."
The couple got engaged in December 2011, two years after they started dating. Foreseeing a future with Trawick, Britney also brought a $8.5 million mansion in Thousand Oaks, Los Angeles, where she hoped to move in with Trawick and her two sons - Sean and Jayden.
But the split seems to have left Trawick in the lurch. Radar Online reported that Trawick sacrificed his career to take care of the "Scream and Shout" singer, and now that the couple is no longer together he is walking away with nothing other than what he earned from the X Factor.
"He made it clear to Jamie Spears and Britney that he wasn't a charity case and didn't want or need any of her money.
"There are no hard feelings financially between Jason and Britney. Jason is just ready to move into the next stage of his life and start finding his own way again," the source told Radar Online.
