While we impatiently wait to see celebs grace the red carpet in designer wear, the results are not always pleasing to the eye. Here is a list of eight worst dressed celebs that made us flinch in 2012.

Kim Kardashian: The reality star has often been rapped for her flamboyant and sometimes very weird sense of style. But nothing has been as strange as her lace dress on New Year's Eve that made her famed voluptuous curves even more bulky.

Fergie: While her voice might be sultry and appealing, her attire failed to please us during the New Year's Eve when she stepped out in a gaudy golden dress. The puffed up sleeves and the bling made it look as if Midas had visited her.

Nicki Minaj: The singer never fails to make it to the list. Minaj hosted the Christmas party for the NYC radio station Hot 97 at the Webster Hall in New York City, Dec. 25. If she had decided to arrive late she could have at least dressed up well. The singer wore a cleavage baring jumpsuit that not only looked very unflattering but almost led to a wardrobe malfunction.

Krysten Ritter: The actress, who usually pulls off gothic looks with class, looked very uncomfortable in a cut out knee length dress. She was celebrating her birthday at The Bank Nightclub at the Bellagio, Las Vegas.

Kristin Davis: The actress who is often seen in classic outfits in the film "Sex and the City" was not so impressiver recently. Attending the Dubai International Film Festival, Davis hit the red carpet in a long black gown which would have looked stunning if she had left the cutout jacket behind. The jacket took away the attention from the gown and made her look frumpy.

Anne Hathaway: Looks like Hathaway left behind all that she learnt about style in "The Devil Wears Prada" and hit the red carpet for the premiere of Les Miserables in a puffed up outfit. Though her custom-made vegan version of Tom Ford's gladiator dominatrix boots became a rage, her black dress with a thigh-high slit looked as if it has a parachute on her back.

Nicole Scherzinger: Scherzinger’s entry into the list is shocking as the singer is always seen impeccably dressed and flaunting her enviable figure. But fans were horrified when she stepped on to the red carpet in Manchester for a press conference before the final of “The X-Factor” U.K. Dressed in a red cape with leather shoulder panels and trousers, Scherzinger looked a far cry from her stylish self.

Lady Gaga: Known for her outrageous outfits, it would be strange if the singing sensation didn't figure in this list. Not just strange it would even be a pleasant change. But Gaga did make it to the list after all for dressing up as marijuana plant for Halloween. The dress left little to the imagination as it concealed just a part of her breasts with what looked like a marijuana leaf. With a long green skirt and a green wig, she also showed off the leaf on her shoulders and on the side of her face. And as if that wasn’t enough, she also wore a puffed up sleeve like things on her elbows.
