"Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey has made shocking revelations in an interview with the Bicycling magazine. The actor, who graces the cover of the January/February 2013 edition of the magazine, admitted that he shaves his legs for the sport and threw in another shocker by claiming to be celibate, reports Just Jared.

Dempsey told the magazine, "Leg shaving has done wonders for my riding. Now that I'm celibate it's easier to focus on my training plans. My longest ride so far is 75 miles."

As much as we appreciate his ride of 75 miles, he broke the hearts of millions of fans with his shaving revelation. And we wonder what his wife, Jillian Fink has to say about his celibacy. The couple has been married since 1999.

Dempsey is very committed to cycling and even admits in the interview that the success of the medical drama can be overwhelming at times but cycling helps him clear his mind. "It was hard to weather the success of Grey's. But I found I could go for a ride and get centered," he told the magazine."Cycling also taught me a lot about managing discomfort. When you leave your comfort zone, you learn how to manage your emotions and to stay focused," he added.

Dempsey is known best for his role as neurosurgeon Dr. Derek Shepherd in "Grey's Anatomy." He is also often called "McDreamy" a name he got in the first season of the show.

The 46-year-old also started the Dempsey Challenge, a charity initiative in October 2009 in response to his mother's battle with cancer. His mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1997 and the disease has relapsed five times in the past 15 years.

The bike rides organized by the charity program raise funds for cancer patients. In its first year, the program raised $1 million.
