Lying low since his divorce with actress Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise has finally made a public appearance and not a subtle one at that. The actor attended the world premiere of his upcoming action flick, "Jack Reacher" at Odeon Leicester Square, London, Dec. 10 according to ZAP 2 it.

Joined by co-stars Rosamund Pike, Robert Duvall and David Oyelowo, the actor showed no hint of regret or pain from the divorce and wore his trademark boyish grin.

Trust Cruise to be different from others. While most celebs dress very ceremoniously in designer suits for events like these, the "Mission Impossible" star was clad casually in a pair of dark-colored jeans, a navy V-neck sweater and navy suede blazer and looked happy to be back on the red carpet.

The actor's divorce with Holmes has been widely speculated. Issues like Cruise's control over the actress' life, his belief in Scientology and him spoiling daughter Suri a bit too much are some of the reasons believed to have caused the fallout. But Cruise has never openly spoken about what led the marriage to fail.

In spite of the divorce, he has always maintained his relationship with the 6-year-old Suri. The little girl flew to U.K. to spend time with Cruise over the Thanksgiving weekend where the actor is shooting for "All You Need is Kill."

Another person Cruise seems to be close to is star soccer player David Beckham. In an interview with Sky News, Cruise spoke about his friendship with Beckham saying, "I started watching Beckham when he first started playing and then met him years after when he was playing for Real Madrid."

Beckham recently encouraged the actor to visit the "Manchester City vs Manchester United" match Dec. 8 where Cruise made a grand entrance in a helicopter, reports examiner.com.

Cruise seems to be proud of his role in "Jack Reacher" which releases Dec. 21.
