Italian designer Roberto Cavalli is all set to dress up India in his style. The coveted designer started his flagship store in the country’s capital city New Delhi, Dec. 7, according to India Today. The store is situated at the Emporio Mall and this news has been welcomed by the fashionistas nationwide. The Emporio Mall also houses the Cavalli Caffè.

Started in partnership with the Infinite Luxury Brands Pvt. Ltd., jointly set up by Indian fashion designer Manav Gangwani, Dubai-based entrepreneur Sahiba Narang and finance expert Rahul Kapoor, this is the first Cavalli store in the country.

Impressed with India’s development in infrastructure and sense of style, he is said to have high hopes from the conutry’s ‘beautiful and young’ women.

“Indian women are beautiful, sophisticated and sensual and they want to look divine and fantastic. I do believe in the Indian market and I love the taste for fashion of Indian people. They have a way to mix and match bright colours,” Cavalli said to zeenews.com.

"It is always an honour to visit a beautiful country like India that holds a strong meaning for me altogether. For outsiders like us, India has always been a country of great culture. I have visited the country before also and trust me, I am noticing a huge development. Its beautiful to see the progressive India and the the civilisation," the site quoted the designer as saying.

This might be Roberto Cavalli’s first flagship store in India but Indians are not oblivious to the iconic designer. In fact Bollywood actresses like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Mallika Arora Khan and Priyanka Chopra are often seen in Cavalli’s designs.

With this venture Cavalli joins the bandwagon of flagship stores in India like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Burberry, Chanel, Dior and Piaget. Cavalli plans to start a store in Mumbai and Dubai next year.
