When one hears the name Drew Barrymore, the most common things that come to mind are rom-coms, her role in “Charlie’s Angels” and the very distinct way she talks. But apart from all these, Barrymore will now be associated with makeup. Yes, the actress is all set to launch her makeup line for Wal-Mart according to a report by kget.com. The star’s line of makeup will be sold exclusively by the chain.
The actress has been the face of Procter & Gamble’s brand, Cover Girl, since 2007 and the contract is believed to be expiring in January 2013, though nothing has been confirmed. A spokeswoman from P&G told the Sun Daily, “Drew continues to be a Cover Girl. As a rule, we don't discuss the details of our contracts with our celebrities and ambassadors.”
The makeup line by Barrymore will be released only after the expiration of the contract with P&G.
For the makeup collection that will be sold at Wal-Mart, the 37-year-old is busy developing products in collaboration with Italian cosmetics supplier Intercos. This is the first time Barrymore will be launching a range of makeup products, though she has earlier worked with Lancome and makeup artist Gucci Westman.
By launching her makeup line, Barrymore joins the bandwagon of celebs with makeup lines to their credit like Salma Hayek, Lauren Conrad and the Kardashian sisters, to name a few.
The actress seems to be very happy and content with her life right now. Barrymore gave birth to her first baby, Olive, with her art consultant husband Will Kopelman. In her first public appearance post pregnancy, the actress attended the star-studded LACMA Art and Film Gala in Los Angeles, as reported by usmagazine.com. The mother of one looked divine in a black loose-fitting dress and matching leggings, and was seen hanging out with friends Justin Theroux, Jennifer Aniston and Salma Hayek, among others.
