With the debate for the presidential election heating up and less than two weeks remaining for the big day, everyone is gearing up to elect a President for the nation. The election brings along excitement and anxiety as we wait for the results. But this time, it seems that the ballot is not the only tool that will hold the results. Surprisingly, fashion is making predictions too.

Synchronicity Boutique, an award-winning special-occasion clothing and accessory shop for teens and adults, has come out with a completely unconventional way of predicting the outcome of the presidential elections. The boutique has used their sales figures to compile the light-hearted results of the upcoming event. The results were generated based on the colors that were bought most during 2012.

To come up with a conclusion, president of the boutique Karen Mazer reviewed the sales during the year and studied the color usage of Red, Blue and Purple and tried to relate the purchases to the election's possible outcome.

"I discovered that "Red" items have outsold "Blue" items and "Purple" items, with the total number of items sold representing 53%, 28%, and 19% of sales respectively. However, items with "Purple" in their description have earned a higher profit margin per item -nearly 3% higher than "Red" items, and 1.5% greater than "Blue" items. To be fair and offer full disclosure, I did not include items that were described as "Aqua, Turquoise, Rose, Violet, Amethyst, and other color variations." Mazer said.

If Synchronicity Boutique is accurate in calculating the possible outcome with Red, Blue and Purple correlating to votes for Romney, Obama, and those who are still undecided, it would mean that if the elections were held immediately, the race to The White House would be won by Mitt Romney.

But the results might change in a few days or even hours, depending on the shopping pattern of customers. The boutique might be very creative in doing this fun research and coming up with the results, however, it is the presidential elections we are talking about and nothing but the ballot will decide the outcome.

All we can do is wait for Nov. 6 and watch what finally happens, to see whether the privilege goes to Obama or Romney.
