Independent couture-inspired designer Pamela Gonzales has collaborated with Nolcha Fashion Week to open her first concept store in New York. The store will not only feature her designs but will also carry creations of celebrity designers like Anais Bouchard and Loris Diran, one of the favorites of Beyonce and Sarah Jessica Parker, and other select talent from the Nolcha Fashion Week.
As reported by Forbes, the Nolcha Fashion Week has become an incubator for budding fashion designers. The description fits the fashion week perfectly, considering it this event that gave recognition to Gonzales.
The Nolcha Fashion Week chose Pamela Gonzales to unveil her Spring/Summer 2013 Collection in their September show and also played a pivotal role in finding the perfect location for her concept store.
Speaking of the eminence of the location, president and co-founder of Nolcha Fashion Week Arthur Mandel notes, "The strategy for selecting this prime location situated opposite SoHo Grand, was to benefit from the popularity of this landmark New York City hotel, while aligning the independent fashion brands with notable retailers in a key shopping district."
Pamela Gonzales' Fall/Winter 2012 Collection marked a journey of self discovery and was unique, reflecting her personal concept of delicate elegance. Her line features intricate and elaborate detailing. Gonzales, a 20-year-old Peruvian designer, showcased her Spring/Summer 2013 at the Nolcha Fashion Week, where it received rave reviews. The collection, inspired by "summer solstice" was created using contrasting and bold colors and was sophisticated and modern.
"We are proud to partner with Pamela Gonzales and the talent that will be featured at this ground-breaking store," Kerry Bannigan, CEO and co-founder of Nolcha Fashion Week said. "Supporting and expanding the reach of the independent designer is the foundation of our brand - this is a very exciting time for us!"
The Pamela Gonzales SoHo store will showcase Gonzales' Fall/Winter 2012 Collection along with those of other emerging designers. The space, designed by Romina Gonzales, uses a lot of glass and will display the collections in the form of an art gallery with glass-blown sculptures and mannequins.
The concept store, Pamela Gonzales SoHo, is located at SoHo Mews, 311 West Broadway, and will throw open its doors Oct. 11.
