When it comes to Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, everyone wants to ape her elegant, classic style. However, the Duchess has once again been subject to discussion; only this time, it is her nude shoes that have generated all the attention.

A pair of nude platform court shoes by M&S, similar to the ones by LK Bennett frequently worn by the Duchess, has been selling like hot cakes. Shoppers are eagerly trying to imitate Middleton’s style, according to the Vogue magazine.

The popularity of the design and the fact that the Duchess has often been spotted in a similar pair, makes them one of Marks & Spencer’s best-selling shoe styles of all time. The store is said to have sold one pair almost every two minutes in the past week.

“Nude court shoes have always been a popular style for us however, their popularity has grown by royal proportions over the last year and even more so since featuring in our September television advert,” Sally Ambrose, head of buying for footwear and accessories at Marks & Spencer was quoted as saying by Vogue. “Although celebrity influence can often be a factor to increased sales the nude court shoe is a classic wardrobe staple that every woman should own,” Ambrose added.

The M&S shoes, which retail at £19.50, are from the store's Limited Collection label, and are available in eight different colors, from the popular nude, to leopard print and gold snakeskin.

Middleton has a sophisticated and graceful sense of style which blends in perfectly with her royal title. With her collection of stylish and enviable dresses, Middleton is always seen looking very prim and proper. But she can’t seem to wear these nude platform court shoes enough.

Middleton was spotted by The Daily Mail on numerous occasions wearing the same pair. She wore it to the Epsom Derby, Prince Philip’s 90th birthday at Windsor, Zara Phillips’s wedding and to a visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. On tour in Canada and the U.S., she was seen in them six times. She was then seen wearing the same court shoes at the Royal Barge and to attend the service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s cathedral.

It is indeed an undisputed fact that these shoes go well with a wide collection of dresses and add to their elegance, but being photographed at almost all events in the same pair can prove to be quite awkward.
