L'Oréal Paris has announced British actress Simone Ashley as the brand's new ambassador for the U.K. and Ireland.

The announcement was made at the Cannes Film Festival, where L'Oréal Paris serves as the official beauty partner.

Ashley, known for her roles in Netflix's "Sex Education" and "Bridgerton," expressed how honored she was to join the esteemed roster of L'Oréal Paris ambassadors.

"I am so excited to stand shoulder to shoulder with some of the most inspiring and beautiful women in the world," Ashley stated in her recent announcement post on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Amelie Fortier-Cyr, general manager of L'Oréal Paris U.K. and Ireland, commended Ashley, highlighting her as a perfect embodiment of the brand's values.

Fortier-Cyr noted that the brand has been celebrating women in cinema for 27 years as the official partner of the festival and that Ashley represents talent, diversity, and freedom of expression in the film industry.

Ashley, 29, joins L'Oréal Paris at a time when her influence and recognition are on the rise. In addition to her acting career, she has expressed interest in creating a beauty line tailored for young dark-skinned women, focusing on their specific hair and skincare needs.

In a previous interview, she highlighted the importance of having beauty products that cater to diverse needs, aiming to provide solutions that make individuals feel seen and appreciated.

"I want them to be like, 'Yes, I've got exactly the right products for me,'" Ashley told British Vogue in 2022.

The actress also shared her emotional connection with her makeup artist Alex Babsky and hairstylist Peter Lux, who understand her beauty needs and help her prepare for events.

"It's about normalizing dark skin and curly hair for girls who need to see that normalized," she said.

Ashley's role as L'Oréal Paris' ambassador not only highlights her growing prominence but also reinforces the brand's dedication to inclusivity and representation.
