Omega, the luxury Swiss watch manufacturer, has announced the launch of “Skyfall”, the limited edition James Bond watch. This watch is in recognition of the latest film from the James Bond series.
Omega Watches has predicted a massive demand for the watch, keeping in mind the kind of iconic image the movie series has. Only 5,007 pieces of Skyfall are available for purchase worldwide.
Another series of timepieces, the Planet Ocean Seamaster featured in the 2008 release of “Quantum of Solace”. It was chosen personally by current Bond actor Daniel Craig while deciding his look for the movie. The new model of the Omega Watch is the seventh piece to feature in a Bond movie.
Omega is one of the luxury manufacturers that has been associated with the Bond franchise for a long time. Other brands that feature in the movie are Land Rover and Jaguar, to name a few.
The Bond connection of the Omega watch is very distinct in its design, with a ‘007’ impressed precisely at the 7 o’clock mark. The legendary code also features at the bracelet’s diver’s clasp.
The watch design is very elegant and chic. With a silver bracelet and a black dial, it appears very ceremonial and formal, a look which applies to all Omega men’s watches. Along with the formal look, the grid-like structure on the dial and the fact that the watch is associated with James Bond, the timepiece personifies the spirit of adventure.
Remaining true to its essence of a diver’s watch, the 42mm bezel in ceramic comes with a chromium nitride diving scale. The black matte-finish dial is coated with a white super-LumiNova paint that emits blue light, as do the facetted rhodium-plated polished hands. The minute hand glows green, echoing the dot on the diving bezel.
All these features help divers keep a track of every second spent underwater with a water resistance of 600 meters. The bracelet and case material are in stainless steel. The watch features Omega’s one-of-a-kind automatic, co-axial chronometer.
The Skyfall watch will be seen on Craig’s wrist in the movie and will be available for sale online for about $7150. The timepiece comes with a four-year warranty.
