Shakira the Columbian singer-songwriter, dancer, and record producer announce to the world via personal blog that she is pregnant with FC Barcelona star Gerard Pique child. The announcement finally put to rest many months of rumors that the singer is pregnant.

"As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby! At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days," posted Shakira on her webpage.

Shakira crossed over into the US music scene with her debut single "Whenever, Wherever" in 2002. Previously the singer was leaving her mark in the latin music industry.

The 35 year-old singer is currently working on her eight studio album and has collaborated with latin artist Pitbull for the song "Get It Started" which is the lead single in Pitbull's Global Warming album.

Recently, Shakira have been introduced to replace Christiana Aguilera as one of the coaches for the hit reality talent show "The Voice" with fellow artist Cee Lo Green and Usher.
