Shell out $5.5 million and the world’s most expensive dress can be yours. The dress, designed by Debbie Wingham, dazzled on the ramp at a fashion show in Ukraine, as reported by the telegraph.co.uk.

The black dress is bejeweled with 25 two-carat black diamonds on the peplum and another 25 two-carat black diamonds on the shoulder shrug. It weighs 13kgs.

The dress looks very luxurious and majestic, with all the detailing and bling. The design of the dress reveals the amount of hard work and effort put into its making. It is undoubtedly elegant and unique, and cannot be worn unless for an occasion that is equally lavish.

Debbie Wingham is a haute couture designer known for her extravagant designs. She started designing at a very young age and was first spotted when she designed a gown that was worn at the BAFTA awards. Wingham has had A-list clients like Hilary Swank and Kate Winslet, to name a few. She has also appeared as a guest judge on Britain’s Next Top Model and her designs have appeared on Sex and the City, Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives.

Wingham is also known for her diamond cut jeans that are stitched in 14-carat white gold thread with a detailing on the right back pocket and a similar detailing with a delicate border to emphasize the front pockets.

The show also featured various other dresses from Wingham’s collection. The black diamond dress has garnered mixed reviews from the audience. Some have liked it immensely and complimented it. A guest told the Telegraph that the dress “really emphasizes the star quality of the person who wears it.” On the other hand, a few guests even criticized the dress. “I don't even want to try this dress, either to show it off, or to have pictures taken. I regret that so many diamonds were 'killed' by such an ugly-looking dress,” the paper quoted a guest as saying.
