The DC Fashion Week, scheduled Sept. 17-23 is a most awaited event. The seventeenth edition of DC Fashion Week (DCFW) has once more partnered with Inova Health System’s ‘Going Green’ initiatives to bring on one stage both established and emerging designers.
Popular designers like Andrew Nowell, Anjoreen, Designersberg and Heydari will be seen at the fashion week. This year, the event will also showcase new entrants Jessiica Howell Fashions, Violet Fernandes, Aphropolitan, Heritage Collection and more.
DCFW has aligned itself with over 40 organizations in the new Art4All DC to highlight artistic expressions like dance, fine arts, music, theater and fashion.
The official kick-off event ‘Seventeen starts green!’ will be held at the IFC, a member of the World Bank group, which supports private sectors in developing countries.
The weekend starts off Sept. 21 with a taste of South Asia, where the event will feature latest creations from the region. Designer collections from India will wow guests at Indique Heights. Emerging designers and Indie musical guests will be showcased at The Washington Post Conference Center. An event titled M.E.D.I.A (Metropolitan Emerging Designers & Indie Artists) will showcase top fashion designers from local metro area colleges and universities, as well as regional artists, who will perform live.
The grand finale event, the International Couture Collection will be held at the Embassy of France, La Maison Francaise. The event will see designers from across the world and will feature latest collections from places like India, Serbia, Ghana, Iran, Thailand, the U.S. and more.
A weeklong event, DC Fashion Week brings fashion and design to the fore, producing runway events twice a year. It caters to a large audience and is a highly-awaited fashion event.
The styles showcased at DC Fashion Week are trendy and bring out the real flavor of the season. It hosts established designers who have carved a name for themselves in the industry and are renowned for attractive and stylish designs.
