Ever wondered how celebrities maintain their luscious, glossy hair? It's easy to assume it's all about pricey hair products -- and that's not entirely off-base.

Fortunately, a celebrity hairstylist who boasts clients like Olivia Rodrigo and Rachel Zegler has shared some of the affordable alternatives that he swears by.

In a recent TikTok video, Clayton Hawkins revealed his tried-and-tested dupes for expensive hair products, and some of them you can even purchase from drugstores.

"I'm a celebrity hairstylist, and here are my biggest dupes for expensive hair products. I get sent everything, I've tried it all, and here are my honest opinions," he said.

First, Hawkins suggested that those who like the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray ($49) try out the Living Proof Dry Volume and Texture Spray ($36). He emphasized its ability to add significant hold, volume, and texture, particularly for those with flat or thin hair.

"[It's] not dirt cheap, but this thing is amazing, if you have flat wimpy hair this is going to give you so much hold, so much volume, so much texture," he told his 88,000 followers.

Next, the hairstylist pointed to the Dove Brilliant Gloss and Repair Serum and Oil ($10) as a substitute for the pricier Augustinus Bader Hair Oil, which retails for $52.

Hawkins described the Dove serum as "the most slept-on hair product at your drugstore," emphasizing its luxurious scent. He even admitted to purchasing multiple backup bottles in case it's ever discontinued.

"This thing works like a dream. I use this on all of my clients when their hair is damp, and when their hair is dry, it's buildable," he said. "This smells like a very expensive product."

Lastly, Hawkins suggested opting for the $23 Sexy Hair Healthy Moisturizing Peach Mask over the $67 Masque à l'Orchidée Softening Hair Mask from Leonor Greyl. He claimed that the cheaper product is equally effective but has a more appealing scent.

"And finally Leonor Greyl, their Masque à l'Orchidée. [I] think I'm saying that right. It's a great product, [I] actually really like that brand," he said. "Do you wanna know what works just as well and smells actually better? This Sexy Hair Healthy Moisturizing Peach Mask."

"Plus you get twice as much product," the pro added. "This smells so good. [It] leaves your hair so soft."

As the video wrapped up, Hawkins asked whether his followers wanted more hair-related videos. They enthusiastically suggested topics for upcoming videos, such as curly/wavy hair care routines and products, the ideal shampoo and conditioner for thin, color-treated hair, and more.
