Angelina Jolie has long been revered not just for her talents but also for her seemingly ageless beauty.

But what are the secrets behind the Oscar winner's enviable glow?

Here are some of the skincare and beauty tips shared by Jolie and her dermatologist, Rhonda Rand.

1. Minimalist approach to makeup

Dr. Rand told Refinery29 that Jolie "never wears makeup unless she's working," which she cited as one of the reasons why the actress' skin "looks good."

The dermatologist also noted that Jolie's makeup artist is "super careful about what she puts on her skin and takes good care of it when she's working."

2. Simple skincare regimen

Blessed with her mother's exquisite olive skin, Jolie follows and sticks to a simple routine, which includes sunscreen, a mild cleanser, and antioxidants, according to Rand. The dermatologist said the actress also sometimes uses glycolic and alpha hydroxy acids.

Rand said Jolie uses products like Dermbasics RR Perfection Cream and Dermbasics Glycolic Acid Pads 20%. These products help maintain Jolie's clear complexion by removing impurities, increasing collagen, and addressing discoloration.

The skin expert noted that Jolie avoids harsh scrubs and chemicals, emphasizing the efficacy of a natural-focused approach in preserving skin texture and radiance.

According to Truly Beauty, Jolie also uses Guerlain's Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil.

3. Right amount of skin treatments

When it comes to skin treatments, Jolie doesn't do more than is needed. She opts for occasional light laser resurfacing and photofacial or Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to address pigmentation problems but avoids any treatment that changes the quality of her skin or causes scarring, according to her dermatologist.

"She doesn't have any kind of a plastic look because [she] doesn't do anything drastic -- she doesn't need it," Rand said of Jolie.

As for plastic surgery, Jolie told the Daily Mail in 2010 that she hasn't had any work done on her face and has no plans to go under the knife.

"If it makes somebody happy then that's up to them. I'm not in somebody else's skin to know what makes them feel better about themselves. But I don't plan to do it myself," she added.

4. Sun protection as a priority

According to Rand, Jolie always wears sunscreen and avoids prolonged sun exposure to protect her skin and combat premature aging.

Rand also told Refinery29 that Jolie makes sure to wear hats, hydrate, and moisturize before leaving the house.

5. Balanced makeup

Jolie's makeup mantra involves accentuating one feature at a time, ensuring a refined appearance.

She told InStyle in 2018, "I do either dark eyes or red lips," a strategy that works for her naturally prominent features.

"I have very full, big features, so if I did everything, I'd look a bit like a clown. It'd be just... a lot," she explained.

6. Early initiation of dermatological care

Jolie said she began her skincare journey at the age of 11 after her late mother, Marcheline Bertrand, brought her to Dr. Rand.

She said her dermatologist encouraged her to embrace "being as natural as possible."
