Flavia Leal, the founder of the Flavia Leal Beauty School, hails from Brazil. She arrived in the United States in 2000 to pursue a better life for her and her family. The beauty expert and motivational speaker has overcome numerous obstacles and heartbreak over the course of her life, but it has all brought her to creating a stout career and life.

Leal worked well over 80 hours per week while also working on her college degree, raising her child as a single mother and living in less-than-average housing standards. Things got worse in 2008, when her father died, followed by her mother in 2009 and her daughter was then diagnosed with ADHD as well.

"Do what you have to do, not what you want to do," Leal said. "When our minds get tired, we don't want to open the door because of what is on the other side, but we have to do these things to grow."

Instead of conceding and giving up, Leal found the courage to finish school and then opened her first school in 2010, followed by her makeup line in 2012. She then purchased her second school in 2013, from a previous owner who had run it for over 52 years, bringing it back to life. Success ensued as she built a clientele and social following as well. In conjunction with two schools, she also advanced her makeup line and created a series of workshops.

Having scaled her businesses, and realizing her unique beauty and makeup skills, teaching and ability to motivate students, she advanced her career as a widely-recognized beauty expert. The world-renowned Leal has also been recognized for her contributions to the industry in countries like France, Austria and Brazil, among others.

The motivational speaker is licensed in manicures, esthetics, artificial nail techniques, eyebrow design, airbrush, is a teacher of esthetics and makeup, and is a cosmetics products demonstrator as well. Additionally, she has also been invited to many countries to demonstrate and has earned countless accolades, laurels and awards along her journey.
