4 Ways To Make Your Work Feel Like PlayCredit : Pexels

Everyone dreams of the day they can wake up in the morning feeling truly excited to go to work. People often complain about work and wish for the weekend to come sooner. Then, the weekend comes and they start the same cycle again, dreading their entire week. However, this doesn't have to be the case for you. It is possible to love what you do and actually enjoy working. The problem is, this doesn't happen in the blink of an eye, it sometimes takes hard work or some time and patience with yourself. Follow along for five tips to make your work feel like play and find a way to love what you do.

Find Your Passion

This is most important, as it can be a challenge. Often, we focus on financial success and tend to overlook our true passion. It is obvious when someone is passionate about their career. You can see it all over their face as they work or explain it to you, they are often successful as well. Although, this may be different for everyone. As much as one person loves clinical psychopharmacology in an effort to make an impact, another person could love fixing cars because they are amused with the way they work in synchronicity. Point is, if you find your passion you will never work a day in your life. Okay, maybe that saying is too cliche, but you understand what I mean. The more you enjoy your work, the more you will feel like you aren't working.

Starting Your Own Business

Have you exhausted all your options, you feel like no matter what job you do, you hate it? Well, you may be an entrepreneur at heart. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, you may not fit into any job until you create your own. With your own business, 100% of what you do will be your decision. You will have no boss, no assigned work, or no 9-5 schedule. Instead, you create the hours and make your own money. Problem is, starting a business can be very challenging- especially in the beginning. It will take a lot of hard work and sacrifice to start a business. However, once you get your momentum going, it could change your life. Starting your own business is like raising your own baby, it will always be yours and you are the one who nurtured it to become successful. That is what is so gratifying about starting a business, you will feel like you are working towards something you have always wanted to do-and you're the boss!

Take Vacation Time

Maybe, you do enjoy your job! Your boss and coworkers are all kind and you feel like you are appreciated at your job. You are successful and you have always liked your work. But, you are feeling burnt out and tired. If this is the case, the issue could be that you are not taking enough time off. As humans, we go through different periods of ups and downs in our life. Sometimes, doing the same thing for too long with no break can actually put a toll on your mental health. All you need is some vacation time where you can put everything aside and relax. Even if it's something as simple as a staycation or a camping trip in nature, the act of giving yourself a chance to rest and unwind is enough. You don't need a fancy vacation to Europe to feel like you had a great vacation. Chances are after taking some time away, you will feel rejuvenated and more motivated than before. Consider taking time off every season to maintain success and clarity in your career.

Negotiate A Flexible Schedule

Sometimes, all we really need to feel satisfied at our job is a flexible schedule. Most people can agree that they do want to work. Without work, boredom would be more prominent in our lives. Additionally, many people like to feel accomplished and successful and this has nothing to do with money. Simply, having the ability to work when we feel motivated could change our whole perspective on work. Think about how your life would change if you got to pick the days and times you worked. You would now have the flexibility to attend the yoga class you love Monday mornings or pick your daughter up from school to enjoy afternoon piano lessons with her. Flexibility is something you can make a priority when applying for jobs.
