Women undergo a lot of changes during pregnancy. Since announcing her pregnancy in January, singer Halsey has been very open about it on her social media. The About Face founder shares tidbits with her 23.5 million Instagram followers and her latest revelation is her sensitive skin woes. She's been on a hunt for gentle skincare products and honed in on Jessica Alba's Honest Beauty.

Halsey tagged Honest Beauty and Jessica Alba on her Instagram Stories saying "Thank you @honestbeauty @jessicaalba for saving my pregnant skin. Not an ad just seriously the first thing I've tried that's gentle enough for my skin rn."

What To Expect points out that a lot of women experience sensitive skin during pregnancy. Skin can easily get irritated, swollen, and itchy. For those with sensitive skin prior to getting pregnant, it feels even worse. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists adds that melasma and acne are also common skin concerns during pregnancy. Switching to gentle skincare products will help.

Halsey's Pregnancy Skincare Routine

Honest Beauty Gentle Gel Cleanser

The Gentle Gel Cleanser promises to cleanse skin and remove makeup without overdrying. It's infused with calming chamomile and calendula extracts to wash away impurities without compromising the skin's moisture barrier.

Honest Beauty Beauty Sleep Resurfacing Serum

Honest Beauty's Resurfacing serum uses five types of alpha hydroxy acids - glycolic, lactic, citric, malic, and tartaric. Together, these fruit-derived AHAs gently exfoliate skin to cleanse pores and remove dead skin cells. Sensitive skin is usually easily irritated with chemical exfoliants, but Halsey finds AHA serum gentle enough for her pregnancy skin routine.

Perhaps it's that added hyaluronic acid that tempers the rest of the active ingredients. Alba adds that it can be used as often as needed.

Honest Beauty Hydrogel Cream

A cooling gel moisturizer with hyaluronic acid, it delivers hydration for dewier skin. Hyaluronic acid is one of the buzziest skincare ingredients in the last couple of years. If you're unsure of what it does for skin, it's a humectant.

A humectant draws and holds water on the skin to keep it moisturized for an extended period. Hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in our bodies. However, like collage and elastin, it decreases as we age. That's why it's very common to find it in skincare products now.

Aside from hyaluronic acid, the Honest Beauty Hydrogel Cream has the added moisturizing benefits of squalene and sodium PCA. This moisturizer rounds up Halsey's pregnancy skincare routine.
