Rachel Brosnahan rose to fame playing Midge Maisel in the TV series, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Her role in the popular series has earned her a Primetime Emmy, two back-to-back Golden Globe awards, two Screen Actor's Guild awards and two Critic's Choice awards. While the show revolves around Midge's desire to be a standup comedian in the 1950s, Brosnahan's luminous beauty also takes the spotlight. Here are some of her beauty must-haves and her minimalist makeup routine.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and Cetaphil Deep Hydration Healthy Glow Daily Cream

Brosnahan shares with Elle that her mother steered her to the cult-favorite cleanser at age 16. She says that after trying various drugstore products, Cetaphil and moisturizer "completely" changed her skin and from then on, skincare has been a priority. In true Hollywood fashion, Brosnahan was named a Cetaphil brand ambassador in 2019. She prefers using Cetaphil Cleanser without water to keep "really, really sensitive skin" moisturized. After she massages it gently around her face, she wipes it off with a reusable cotton round.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

For those struggling with breakouts, Brosnahan reveals that Mario Badescu Drying Lotion is the "actor's secret potion." She says that when she needs a spot to disappear quickly for work, she dabs on this pink lotion and it clears out zits fast.

Vintner's Daughter Botanical Serum

Wearing a lot of makeup on the set can be irritating for her skin. To keep it hydrated, she uses around six drops of this plant-based serum and pats in onto her skin to keep redness and dryness at bay.

Joanna Vargas Euphoria Face Mask and SK-II Facial Treatment Mask

For extra hydration and to calm irritations, Brosnahan uses a sheet mask twice a week (or when she has time in the morning) and prefers either the Joanna Vargas Euphoria Face Mask or the SK-II Facial Treatment Mask and uses the Jillian Dempsey Gold Sculpting Bar to work the treatment in.

Red Lipstick

Midge Maisel almost always wears red lipstick, but Brosnahan usually likes softer pinks and corals. However, she reaches for a bright red lipstick when she feels or looks tired. To look more awake, her drawer is full of bold shades from Ilia, Dior and YSL. Try Ilia Color Block High Impact Lipstick in True Red, Dior Rouge Dior Liquid Lip Stain in 999 or YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in Le Rouge.

Her Off-Cam Look

Brosnahan is used to spending hours on a makeup chair on the set. When she's off-duty, she admits to Vogue that she's a "back of the taxi or on the subway makeup person." She prefers the Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturizer over foundation which she blends in with a BeautyBlender and uses her fingers to pat on Ilia True Skin Serum Concealer under her eyes. She fills in her eyebrows with Chanel Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil and applies the multi-use product Olio E Osso Apricot on her lips, cheeks, and eyelids. Next up is a few coats of Sisley Paris So Volume Mascara then she tops it all off with her "very, very well-loved powder" Chantecaille HD Perfecting Powder. The result is a very simple and natural everyday look.
