Japanese Fashion Retailer Uniqlo Planning to Expand Globally, Launched Novak Djokovic collaborative collection.  

Shin Odake CEO of Japanese retailer in a released press statement said the brand is looking to expand globally and bring the $12 million per year company to $50 million by 2020.

The company is already planning to expand the globe and in the US by opening stores in New Jersey and West Coast.  "In order for us to achieve our goal by 2020, we need to expand globally outside of Japan and USA is an extremely important market for us," said Odake.

Uniqlo is also planning to change the Japanese brand image, " We plan to launch e-commerce," and is planning to "change - to an American company from a Japanese company," according to the press statement. 

Uniqlo has already expanded its brand by recruiting Tennis star Novak Djokovic. The new collaborative collection was recently launched  featuring the 25 year-old Serbian tennis star wearing specially designed Uniqlo active wear clothing, which he wore during the recent French Open 2012 tour.

"All the inspiration comes from him (Djokovic)," said Naoki Takizawa, Uniqlo Creative Director. Djokovic added "It's very important from the perspective of a professional tennis player to have the most advanced materials and fabrics used and these materials absorb the sweat very quickly but don't feel heavy."

The New Djokovic collaborative collection from Uniqlo will be available August 27, 2012.
