Africa Is Rising, an event to underline Africa’s fashion and textile industry, hosted by the Africa Fashion Week Los Angeles, will be held on the 30th of August according to a press release. This event intends to bring out the issues, good or bad, faced by the designers and to raise awareness about the African fashion and textile industry.

AFWLA as the Africa Fashion Week Los Angeles is called was founded to cater to the needs of established and budding African designers in the greater Los Angeles area. It aims to showcase their talent, and also highlight the human right issues being faced by these countries.
