People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) spotted Lady Gaga posing in Vogues new cover  wearing various fur coats. Lady Gaga has apparently moved on from leather to fur.

Dan Mathew PETA Senior Vice President wrote to Lady Gaga expressing PETA's disapproval:

"Many of your gay fans, I among them, have long admired what you told Ellen: "I hate fur and I don't wear fur."  These recent photos of you in fox and rabbit and with a wolf carcass make it appear that you have amnesia." Mathew added "What happened? Are your stylist telling you that it's fake, or are you a turncoat?"

In response to PETA's request  Gaga posted on her Little Monsters fan website: "For those press and such who are writing about whether or not my fur is actually real, please don't forget to credit the designer HERMES. Thank You! LOVE, gaga."

On the site fan's posted their view of the recent Vogue cover:

"How could you? That's so messed up, I thought you stood up for better values than fashion at the cost of animal suffering."

"No one cares until it's cute fluffy fur - what about the leather she wears on a semi-regular basis? You can't advocate animal rights *only* when its FUR"

"Would never try and stop anyone wearing what they want. But I can't stand fur and think fashion shouldn't mean the slaughtering of innocent animals. xx "

"I love you gaga but I do hope that it's not real fur:( Poor animalssss :( "
