Jason Wu to premiere "Miss Wu" collection for everyday fashion buyers expected to be released in January 2013.
The 29 year-old fashion designer is known for his ready-to-wear line of clothing. Wu won Fashon Group International's Rising Star award in 2008. Wu's celebrity clients include: Ivana Trump, January Jones and Michelle Obama.
In a creative direction, Jason will design outfits with a lower price point to reach greater fashion audiences. The designs will have more affordable price for shoppers.
The new designer lable "Miss Wu" is expected to expand Jason's collection beginning in January sold exclusively in Nordstrons stores first.
Jason Wu tells WWD "Miss Wu is my personality. It was really fun to explore that facet of who I am - slightly more downtown, and with a more relaxed attitude." The new line will feature a 'lil' owl as a logo.
Jason Wu had previously worked with Target. The new collection will feature vintage inspiration from striped shirts, feminine blouses, A-line dresses, floral skirts, trnech coats and leather jackets. "Miss Wu" will have a price range of $195-$795 and plans to add accessories in 2014.
