Kat Von D Accuses Drugstore Brand Makeup Revolution of Copying Her Makeup Palette

The tattoo artist, model, TV personality and now makeup entrepreneur, Kat Von D, has called out drugstore brand Makeup Revolution for copying her palette.
Kat Von D spoke up on her social media accounts, including Twiiter, Instagram and Youtube about how the company has offended her after she had put her everything into creating the product.
According to Allure, Kat Von D found out about the issue after one of her followers on Twitter showed her a picture of Makeup Revolution's Ultra Eye Contour Light & Shade palette that looks exactly similar to her makeup line product Shade + Light palette before she finally decided to record a video on her phone posted on her Youtube channel. She said that she worked hard on her products, including the artwork, names and quads placement.
The founder of Kat Von D Beauty said she did not want to sue Makeup Revolution for copying her makeup palette, but rather speak up publicly about it. She said that her reason is because she does not want to "start normalizing something that is unjust."
To prove how she worked really hard on her products which she called her "babies", Kat Von D showed a video of all of her work process on creating the makeup products for her beauty line, including the drafts for her artworks that would be used on the palettes to the ones for the website. She also showed how she had to test all of her products before they are released to the market.
According to Cosmopolitan, Makeup Revolution is allegedly known for creating dupes, a term for the cheaper alternatives for high-end makeup products. Previously, the company has been accused of copying another beauty product, Charlotte Tilbury lipstick. In their defense, the company states that dupes are not a bad thing because "dupes are a recognized and celebrated part of the fashion and beauty industry, and consumers love them."
However, in the case of Kat Von D Beauty blatant rip-off, Makeup Revolution has not spoken up about it. Kat Von D's Shade + Light palette costs $48 while the Makeup Revolution's costs $15.
