Urban Decay Cosmetics, a company that pride's itself for being 100% vegan and animal testing free, recieves major backlash after the recent decision to sell their products in China.

Urban Decay Cosmetics was founded in 1996 and is based in Newport Beach, CA The brand prides itself for not employing "Animal testing" in the creation of its cosmetic products. The Urban Decay website states everything is 100% Vegan, and was voted by PETA for Best Cruelty-Free Cosmeitc Line award, which was recenlty taken off the list of cruelty-free companies.

Recently, Urban Decay announced in June 6th that they will begin selling their products in China, which requires by law animal testing before releasing products to the public.

Known internationally for its stance on animal testing, many consumers are dismayed by how Urban Decay is breaking their vows against animal testing. Comments on Urban Decay's Facebook Page post the consumers dissatifacton for the companies recent moves:

"Please no animal testing"

"Your company tells lies to customers and bragging about being kind to animals, your company is not trustworthy."

"what about all of the animals that you claim you care about?"

"If UD has learned anything about their fans over the years, it should be that they are *passionate*"

"What a shame! People have been talking you guys up but I agree, I will not buy any of your products if they have been tested on animals"

"I'm very disappointed that Urban Decay decided to send their industry to China where they do animal testing! I will no longer buy your products as long as they are being sold and made in China."

Urban Decay's policy states that the brand will not allow third parties to test on animals on their behalf, except when it is required by law.
