Sydney Elizabeth Spies known for her provocative banned yearbook photo now has a role in SyFy movie channel.

In the syfy movie Sydney will play 'Missy' for the movie Final initiation or American Horror House, The aspiring model will play a sorority girl from the film set to air during Halloween .

Sydney posted on her Facebook: "Making a movie for the SyFy channel. It's a small role but I'm excited for the opportunity!"

The 18-year-old gained national attention in January of this year, when her submitted yearbook photo was banned for being too provocative by the yearbook staff at Durango High School in Colorado. Sydney was wearing a black shawl and short yellow skirt revealing a lot of skin.

Sydney is currently finishing up her High School year and decided not to attend the graduation instead she'll be focusing on her future career in acting or modeling, according to Westwood newspaper in Denver, CO.

On the Today show, Sydney Elizabeth said, "I honestly think the picture describes who I am. I'm an outgoing person and I really do think it's artistic."

Sydney Elizabeth is taking full advantage of the exposure from the yearbook photo scandal.
