Hair salons are plentiful in New York City, but sometimes it can be difficult to weed through the sub-par ones to find an option that's right for you.

With an extensive range of services and a beautifully designed space, the recently opened Roman K Salon in New York City's NoMad neighborhood is a one-stop shop for those in need of any hair, skin or beauty treatment.

We recently visited Roman K Salon, located at 253 Fifth Avenue on the fifth floor, to check out the space and treat ourselves to one of the many hair services available. Keep reading to find out why we love Roman K Salon and think you will too.

1. The Owner

Roman Kusayev grew up in a family of hairdressers and cosmetologists, and he began his own career at 17 years old. With experience at the prestigious John Barrett Salon at Bergdorf Goodman and esteemed Butterfly Studio Salon, Kusayev has been trained by some of New York City's finest hair care professionals. Kusayev was once named a top stylist by Allure magazine and has also been mentioned in Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan as an expert stylist, so you know your hair is in good hands when you book an appointment with him.

2. The Atmosphere

Roman K Salon is an ultra-chic, full-service salon and spa, but the space and staff are much more welcoming than what you might find at other upscale spots in New York City. Floor-to-ceiling windows at the front of the salon fill the room with natural light, and the space's open-concept design gives it a modern feel.

3. The Shu Bar Treatments

If your hair is damaged or simply in need of a little love, head to Roman K Salon for a ShuBar treatment. After asking you a few questions about your hair and taking a closer look at it, your stylist will mix together a conditioning treatment that will leave your hair feeling soft and silky. The treatment is quick (great for those with busy schedules) and effective (our hair remained super soft for days after our treatment).

4. The Liquid Lounge

Before your appointment, get comfortable in Roman K Salon's lounge while enjoying complimentary beverages, including coffee, tea, wine, champagne and mimosas, from the bar. Guests can also sip on a selection of health and beauty drinks in the lounge.
