Dating rumors about Selena Gomez and Zedd have been buzzing since she broke up with Justin Bieber. The singer and the EDM DJ worked together on a single, "I Want You To Know," and have continued to hang out together since its release.
While the two previously gushed about each other during numerous interviews, adding fuel to the fire, it looks as if their romance is possibly already over. Now, Zedd is finally speaking up about his relationship with Gomez.
Zedd told Billboard's Pop Shop Podcast that he didn't appreciate all of the speculation about his relationship with Gomez and hopes that the media will now focuse on his future work projects instead.
"I don't think I've ever been in the press in my life for anything but my music, and I've appreciated that a lot," said Zedd. "And I've never had any scandals and I've never done anything bad, and everyone only talked about my music. I liked that - that's how I want it to be. And then, out of nowhere, suddenly people started talking about things that had nothing to do with my music. I was like, 'Wait - we've got a song. Why don't you talk about that song?' It took me a really long time to do this."
After rumors of his alleged relationship with Gomez, he made the decision to not discuss his personal life in public.
"It is a distraction, that's exactly that it is," said the producer. "And I wasn't used to it either - like, my dad would text me something like, 'Hey, have you seen this?' At that point [the news] went over four stations and four languages and turned into something completely different. I'm like, 'Dad, if I tell you something, that's what it is, and just don't believe anything you read online.'"
Zedd and Gomez reportedly split and decided to just be friends. The DJ is all about getting his album ready and being out of the magazines and Gomez is all about her movies and music.
