Iman advocated for bring black products including her "Iman Cosmetics" into regular cosmetic shelves instead of "being relegated to the back walls of ethnic section sin major retailers."

The model and beauty mogul criticized large retailers who are hesitant to carry her beauty line in their stores despite being successful in Sephora and J.C Penny's. Iman's cosmetics and "Global Chic" collection has amassed $25 million in yearly sales.

"I have customers from all over the world that look for the products, but I also have customers in the U.S. that can't find the products in a store near them." she said at the WWD2012 Beauty CEO Summit.

Target has 1724 stores in their redbook report, Walgreen has 6,543 drug stores and Walmart has 4,237 stores across the US and 3,210 Walmart's internationally.

Iman is appealing to mass retailers that they are missing a wide section of the U.S population with different skin tones.
