In mid-April, the entire crew of the movie, "Snowden," left their Washington, D.C. location and flew to Hawaii to continue filming there.

This biographical political thriller is based on the real-life story of Edward Snowden, a computer professional, who leaked classified information from the National Security Agency to the mainstream media.

On April 15, lead actor, Joseph Gordon-Levitt was sighted running lines on the beach.

Meanwhile, co-star Shailene Woodley was spotted doing some scenes in Honolulu on April 16, Just Jared Jr. reported. She plays the role of Lindsay Mills, Snowden's love interest.

Rumors spread on the Internet that Woodley's trip to the Aloha state didn't solely involve filming the movie.

Photos went viral on Twitter that the "Insurgent" actress was sighted with alleged boyfriend, Nahko Bear, who happens to reside in Hawaii.

Sheo Update (@SheoUpdate) shared this snap of Woodley hanging out with Nahko Bear, captioning it, "Shailene Woodley com Nahko Bear e amigos."

Following Hawaii, the cast and crew moved to the new location in Hong Kong.

post on the movie's official social media page confirmed that Joseph Gordon-Levitt and director Oliver Stone filmed some scenes near Kwa old buildings and Miramar Plaza. However, "The Fault in Our Stars" actress was nowhere to be seen.

Seems the 23-year-old actress wasn't needed on set in Hong Kong and took an extended stay in Hawaii instead to be with Bear.

The film, based on "The Snowden Files" by Luke Harding, will hit theaters Dec. 25th according to The Hollywood Reporter

Along with Woodley and Gordon-Levitt, the cast includes Scott Eastwood, Melissa Leo, Timothy Olyphant, Zachary Quinto and Tom Wilkinson.
