The first episode in a romantic web series called "Away We Happened" featuring YouTube makeup guru FrmHeadToToe (a.k.a. Jen), who plays opposite of YouTube music artist VictorVictorKim (a.k.a. Victor Kim), has garnered over 1 million page views within a week of its release.
"Away We Happened" is a collaboration between the guys at Wong Fu Productions (Wes, Ted, and Phil), AT&T , as well as YouTube music artist Victor Kim and Youtube makeup guru Jen FrmHeadToToe. The web episodes are unique because the team at Wong Fu only wrote the script for the first episode and is letting viewers weigh in on the plot for the upcoming 5 webisodes. Based on comments from each episode, the team will write, film, edit, and upload the next episode in just a few days.
The first episode, which released on May 21, introduces Victor Kim as "Dan" and Jen as "Jean." Fate brings the two together in a coffee shop in New York City where after making her order, Jean accidentally grabs Dan's luggage by mistake. Both of their luggage are identical in shape and color except Jean's luggage is distinguished by a name tag and a panda keychain named Edgar while Dan's luggage has markings of the Gemini constellation on the back. Upon realizing he has the wrong luggage, Dan calls the number on the name tag get into a little argument that sounds like a lovers' quarrel. Both agree to mail the luggage back to each other. Jean is already in Los Angeles. Dan is from New York City.
However, at the end of the episode, Dan calls Jean saying he is flying out to Los Angeles for work. The episode ends with the question, "How should Jean respond?" Viewers are also left wondering abut the contents of a letter Jean is seen placing inside an envelope at the beginning of the episode. Let the intrigue begin!
The web episodes will definitely include a lot of texting and calling as AT&T products are the star of this romance. Jen is seen calling, texting and taking photos with a Nokia Lumia 900.
In the video, Jen looks beautiful as always with an everyday makeup look: perfect skin, neutral eyes with the brown eyeshadow and liquid liner, rose lipstick and some peachy blush on the cheeks.
Jen announced the video on her website www.frmheadtotoe.com last week, saying it was her first time doing any "real acting." She said the closest she has gotten was playing "Puck" in A Midsummer Night's Dream in high school .
"My heart was racing so hard watching this video for the first time since it's as much of a surprise for me as it was for you. Still totally in disbelief and such an honor to be working with such talented and wonderful people," said Jen.
Jen, who joined YouTube in 2008, has over 269,000 subscribers on her channel "FrmHeadToToe," where she regularly posts up makeup tutorials, makeup reviews with swatches and fashion advice. She has also appeared in cameos for other YouTube stars including an appearance in Lancome makeup artist Michelle Phan's "Catch My Heart" video.
Episode 2 of Away We Happened is slated for release May 30.
