Pratt Institute is one of the most elite designs schools in New York City. Recently, the institute held its Annual Fashion Show. The event included seventeen students from the institute show off five pieces each of the work they had done during their course. The creativity on display was amazing and the amount of talent the students portrayed was unbelievable. Some of the collections portrayed at the event included dresses laced with electric lights, a provocative cigarette themed collection, and some beautiful tailored collection. The eye catcher however was a quilted collection by Kelsy Carleen Parkhouse who won the Liz Claiborne Award-Concept to Product that entitled a cash prize of $25,000.

Pratt counts a lot of fashion industry insiders as friends, and this year gave Fern Mallis the "Pratt Institute Fashion Industry Lifetime Achievement Award," which was presented to her by Calvin Klein.
