Fashion and music have always gone hand in hand and the Coachella Music and Arts Festival witnesses this reunion yet again.
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts begins Friday, April 13th, 2012. And along with several performers and artists being present at the event, top fashion brands from all over the world are said to be descending to California for the event. The festival is said to last two weekends and the brands will be present on both weekends and the week in between to court the performers and their fans.
This proves to be beneficial for both the artists and fashion designers. For fashion labels, when a star endorses or wears their designs, it's sure to attract more customers and for star, performing at an event that has "fashion" involved earns them enough to pay for a tour.
As the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival expands from one weekend to two, so do the fashion and music marketing opportunities in Southern California. Labels such as Levi's, H&M, Lacoste, Armani A|X, Mulberry and Madewell (J. Crew's little sister) not only will be targeting the boho masses with free watches and sunglasses, they will also be courting the performers in the hope that they will attend their high-profile events. The labels are leveraging both festival weekends (April 13-15 and 20-22) and the week in between, hosting parties, live performances, backstage lounges and gifting suites. The musical artists get more than free stuff - acts that perform at fashion events get exposure and, in some cases, payment. Even bands that aren't on the festival bill are cashing in on the swirl of activity.
For fashion enthusiasts and copy cats, this proves to be the perfect occasion to grab some ideas or "take inspiration" from some of the designs all labels intent to showcase at the festival.
