Anne Hathaway, known for her cute, girl next door look, long hair look goes all out as she crops her long tresses and goes in for a short, boy-cut hair-do. The actress was seen leaving Soho nightclub, The Box with fiancé Adam Shulman and a female friend on Sunday. The actress didn't seem too comfortable in her new ado as she tried hiding her hair with her hands when the cameras spotted her.

The actress is said to have cut her hair for the look her character demands in upcoming film "Les Miserables". The Oscar nominee plays the role of Fantine, a single mother who sells her hair and becomes a sex worker to feed her child. Other actors included in the cast are Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter.

Hathaway arrived in the capital of England to shoot the much awaited musical film. It has recently been rumoured that the Emmy-winning actress was putting herself on an extreme crash-diet to portray the starving prostitute Fantine. She was said to be struggling to rapidly lose 16 pounds for the role.

The Tom Hooper-directed movie itself, which is due to hit the U.S. theaters on Decemer 14, centres on the struggle by ex-con Valjean to outrun his past and his relentless pursuer Javert.

A film source told the Daily Mirror: 'Anne is playing a destitute factory worker-come-lady of the night. Unfortunately, she only has 15 to 20 days to lose as much weight as possible - up to a stone-and-a-half - because she's been filming the scenes showing her fit and healthy, almost slightly chubby. It's not ideal but, as with any high-budget movie, there are strict time constraints.'
