Nick Jonas and beauty queen Olivia Culpo may be happily dating for two years now since they first met back in 2013 at the Miss USA pageant, but they might not be ready for the next step yet.

The 22-year-old singer revealed that he gave his girlfriend, who won the Miss Universe crown in 2012, quite a scare when he got down on his knee midway his "Jealous" performance at this year's Miss Universe pageant, reports Us Weekly.

Performing his latest single during the evening gown portion, Jonas went down the stage to serenade his lady love, 22, in her seat.

Culpo, thinking that Jonas was popping the big question on live TV and in the middle of the pageant, was left in a state of panic.

"I went down and sang to her and I go on a knee and approached her. Her face was in full panic, she thought I was going to propose on national TV in front of one billion people," the Jonas Brothers member told The Sun.

Jonas, of course, didn't actually propose and it looks like marriage isn't in their plans for the near future.

"We're 22 so there's plenty of time to do that," he added.

But while there aren't wedding bells in the horizon for the couple yet, it doesn't mean there won't be at some point in the future.

"At some point, it would be ideal [to settle down], but we're still quite young and we're going on a journey," the crooner told "Access Hollywood" October last year.

Meanwhile, things are pretty serious between Jonas and Culpo. In fact, he admitted during his November guest appearance on "The Wendy Williams Show" that Culpo was his inspiration for his song "Jealous."

"We're enjoying the ride together, and it's been a pretty insane year and a half," he said of Culpo, who also appears in the music video of the single. "Lots of changes in both of our lives, and she's been a teammate through all of it."

As for whether or not the Jonas Brothers will be reuniting for an album soon, he told ITV's "Loose Women" earlier this week: "It's hard to imagine saying 'never', but for this moment in time that I'm in right now, I don't see that happening."
